Frank Tomiczek, better known as Da Hool, was one of the leading figures of the underground techno movement in the nineties, that decade, a new club culture was born, ready to grow into one of the biggest musical genres. An exciting time all about electronic avant-garde and the new found techno generation, as Tomiczek kicked off his music career under the DJ Hooligan moniker.

As one of the flag bearers of a continuously growing but young techno scene, he committed himself to music completely. As youth rebelled with raves like Mayday or Love Parade  where hundred of thousands techno lovers celebrated till early morning, DJ Hooligan became one of their ‘underground heroes’.  In the years following, no global club or rave was safe to his beats. Next to legendary originals like ‘La Rocca’, ‘Central Love’, ‘Hool’s Experience’  and ‘An Active Trip’, the Hool sound spread through remixes for many artists and labels like Logic Records, R+S. Music Man, Frankfurt Beat. Low Spirit,  1994, he signed his first major record deal at Warner / East-West Records, followed by the 16 th position in the German charts for his first single ‘Rave Nation’, selling more than 230.000 copies and after this big success he was nominated for the geman tv Viva award as best techno artist. But the biggest Da Hool hit was yet to come.

In 1996, Frank started his very own business Hool Productions and his Label B-Sides where he had released such big artists like Timo Maas for example. One of the first tracks to emerge from this new DJ Hooligan chapter, was the legendary  ‘Meet Her At The Loveparade’, a manifesto and anthem of an upcoming mainstream youth culture, directly linking to the famous German Loveparade. Meet her at the Love Parade has sold almost 6 Millions copies with gold status in several countries like Germany, France ,Australia, UK, Benelux, Southafrica . From that year on, Frank Tomiczek would continue under the name of Da Hool, a dj that enjoys global recognition, travelling all continents to bring his sounds to the crowds from Sydney to New York, whether in an intimate, small club setting or in front of ten-thousands of music lovers.

One of the biggest remix hits to date is Da Hool’s 2003 mix of Armand van Helden’s house hit ‘The Funk Phenomena’, which reached number 1 in the German Dance Charts and was one of the most popular tracks in the UK that year.  Many more would follow, under projects like Freakstylaz and Hool's  Experience on such labels like Subliminal, Ministry of Sound , Hooj Choons.

In 2004 his track “Hool vs Bruckheimer – In the Beginning” on Toolroom was one of the most played house tracks in Ibiza and it became the favourite track of the worlds no 1 dj Eric Morillo who has licensed  it for his US Subliminal label

in 2006 he signed on PIAS Recordings where he released his new album and started to work with artists like Sarah Walker, Richard Oliver, Corey Andrew or the Electropopband Grosstadtgefluester from Berlin. His new electroversion of the doors classical Light my fire entered no. 1 in german dance charts..

‘No Love Anymore’ and ‘She Plays Me Like A Melody’ , Illusion, Into the Unknown are some of his latest productions, released on Armada Music

In 2013 and 2014 he has played on the world most exclusive festival “ Tomorrowland”

Another new release was his project “Hooligan – The Doorkeeper” , which he had released together with the Chicago Rapper Colee Royce on Americas dance label no. 1 Ultra Music New York.

His latest production ON A TRIP feat. Corey Andrew from New York is part of the soundtrack of the cinema Movie “Abschussfahrt” and the single release will follow on Armada Music.

In October 2015 he had released a cooperation with Oliver Heldens, a remake of Meet her at the Love Parade on Spinning Records.

In 2016 the world of dance will be treated to a brandnew Da Hool album. With a new and perfected sound, balancing the past and future, Da Hool shows to be able the exact signs of time

With his open mindedness and awareness of time’s changing, it’s obvious that Da Hool belongs to the absolute DJ and producer elite.  And he’s planning to stay there.
